Rf smoker

I am building a rf smoker out of a275 gallon oil tank.im thinking about building the fb on the inside.framing a firebox on the inside then putting the rf plate about an inch above the fb.have any of you ever tried a design like this? Do you think it would work?

The fb door will be on the left hand side,the rf plate will run across about where the bottom of the door is framed.

The fb will top will be a 1 inch under the rf plate. 1/4 sheet metal,and will have a front on it, the fb will be roughly 24 in wide 24 deep,about 21 inches tall ,the side of the tank will be the side walls of the fb,
