Hello all. I know this question gets thrown about way too often, but I've got a twist that I haven't seen answered previously.
Given said FB with a 4.688" depth of cut to the CC, and a 2" relief cut on the top, the opening (on the diag) is larger than the vertical cut. (5.029" vs 4.688") My math says the opening with the diag is aprox 7% larger than calcs based on the vertical. (109 cu in vs 102 cu in)
If the diag comes into play figuring FB / CC opening, this allows me to lower the firebox until I hit the Area under RF Plate. Therefore providing additional room in the CC for rack spacing.
Thanks for looking!
