Good day to all.

    I have just started to build my own RF smoker. I have a 100 gallon drum 24" x 36", my FB is 18"x18"x18", i used the calculator and got a recomended diameter of 10.9 and a opening area of 46.66 sq in

    I used this calculator http://www.1728.org/circsect.htm to get the height of the opening. The results is 1.4". could anyone confirm this? and can this be able to smoke in my chamber.

Bayoni, morning......  It appears you may be using Feldon's calculator...   STOP...  use the tutorial below...

24" diameter Cook Chamber ???

24x24x0.7854x36=16,286 cui. in.

16,286x0.004 = 65 square inches...

12" radius ...   5" segment height....   68 square inch segment area......

The Chord AB width of 19.5" is the width of the RF plate, IF you measured the CC drum correct...

Ditto what Dave said and welcome.

Thank you dave. I have to recalculate the measurement because i forgot to consider the thickness of the steel. Using what you said i will keep that in mind. Thank you again
