Welcome back. Lets get onto the review. We left off part 1 with the famous beer test. Now lets see how it does with proven temps.

First up the boiling water test: Ink bird is up to bat. Nailed it dead nuts.

Now it's Webers turn at bat: Weber sent it to deep right field but just came up a few degrees short.

...and onto the ice water test. Since I didn't have any ice cubes. I substituted some snow. I'd say thats another homerun.

...and Weber, well close but no cigar.

The backlighting feature came in really handy on this smoke:

I can't waste all this time on temping beer, water, and snow. Can I - heck no... Out came the 26" with two 3 pound meatloafs.

and the sliced shot:

Ok, so to finish up. I was very happy with my new Ink bird instant read thermometer. It came with about a half a charge, and only took about 45 minutes to reach full capacity(I'm guessing because I didn' t really watch the time - it was probably shorter). I didn't have to calibrate it - as all tests were done straight out of box. The magnet comes in handy for those of us who misplace things easily, and backlight makes it super easy for night time Q'ing. I also tested the waterproof aspect of the thermometer and after a quick rinse and dry it still temped out my wifes pork chop dinner perfectly. So I must say, if your looking for an instant read thermometer. This is an excellent choice. Oh I almost forgot to mention. It only took about 2 seconds to settle in on a final temp. It's fast

Thanks for the read

Nice write up Chris. The meatloaf looks delicious. I have an Inkbird 4 probe thermometer that I've had for several months, and it does every bit as well as my "Smoke" thermometer. I'm very happy with it. I dropped my ThermPro recently and it's in bad shape, so maybe I'll get one of these for Christmas.

Sorry about not boiling the PBR, but that's gold in these here parts. Thanks for the like also.

Thank you Gator for the like and kind words. I also have the Ink bird IRF-4S four probe and use it often. My meatloaf supply was getting low and I needed to restock. It makes great sammies and lunches for work.

I picked one of these up on an amazon flash sale. Well worth the $13 I paid for it.

I totally agree foldarr, Excellent unit for the price.

Nice review. I've used mine a couple of times since I did my review on it. Still pleased with it.

I use an instant read quite often. probably more so then my 4 probe. I remember reading your review and was impressed with both the review and product.
