I'm new to smoking, have an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn, been smoking with oak, now have a tar like build up in the smoke chamber. Do I leave it for flavor or clean it off? If I should clean it off, what's the easiest way to do so?
Leave it for the most part. Before I fire up my stick burners, I run a wire brush along the top of the cooking chamber and door to dislodge any loose scale or creosote "icicles" so it doesn't fall on the food I'm smoking
