Lots of people do LARGE cooks.. either for a business or out of the kindness of their hearts.
Whether is for a large family and friends gathering or coworkers or to sell on the side there's always a need for a bigger and badder smoker.
The smoker flavor from a pellet smoker is lighter compared to a stick burner, but they get the job done. Some of it depends on what's being cooked and some of it is the brand of pellets.
The BFG 2500 is more for cooking for crowds along the lines of caterers and possibly some BBQ competitions if the rules allow the use of pellet grills.
Some pellet grill users will add a tube smoker for more smoke production when smoking at higher temperatures since increased cooking temps produce less smoke.
Other users do not use smoke tubes because they are pleased with the amount of smoke production from their grill. It all depends on personal preferences.
If you are considering a pellet grill, then Rec-Tec...oops..Rec-Teq are excellent grills.
Several members here on SMF love theirs.
