So i have been thinking on getting the larger RedTec. For those that have it since i have never owned a pellet grill, Does all food have a smoke taste to it? 

If i want to grill something that someone doesn't want smoke flavor am i out of luck with this grill?

If you're asking about RecTec's (I've never heard of RedTec), I can say that yes, they have great smoke flavor.  I just got rid of my MES 40 Gen 2 because of lack of smoke, and can state that the smoke flavor is far greater and is generate throughout the smoke versus the MES.

yeah it was a typo. But what I'm actually asking was if I have someone over who doesn't want smoke flavor on there meat ( not sure why, I love it) but there is no way of doing that with this grill, correct?

Higher temperatures would result in less smoke, but no smoke flavor at all?  No, not possible with anything but an electric or gasser.

As mentioned before, higher temps (300 or more) will result in a very mild smoke flavor - almost not noticeable.  Many people think the smoke generated from pellet grills is not strong enough even at lower smoking temps (200-225) and these people often add an aftermarket smoke generator (like and Amazen Tube Smoker).  I add one to mine when I do pork butts or brisket.  You can see it in the back of the grill in the pic below.

Thanks for the quick replies.

So i did my 1st real cook on my new Rec Tec 680, grilled 4 ribeyes about 3 fingers thick, baked potatoes, stuffed mushrooms and some veggies.

man those steaks came out just like Rays from rec tec on his you tube video with Stevie.

very happy with it thus far.
