We sold our house last year and am presently living in an apartment till we find a townhome. Getting older it was getting harder for me to maintain that large place so we decided to downsize.
I used my UDS all those years there and enjoyed many a Q from it. Unfortunately I can't use the UDS here at this apartment.
Last night I picked up a masterbuilt electric smoker, mes 130b and have yet to fire it up. I received my little amazin tray and sawdust as well and am going to put a mailbox mod on it in the next week or so.
My question is..... Other than removing the little chip insert contraption that you remove and insert from the outside, do you have to remove any of the internal parts related to that area?

No . I think most of the guys do , but I left mine intact because I would still use the chip loader at times . 3 " pipe slides right in .

Thanks... I've been reviewing everything I can find on here with regards to this mod.

I can build and explain a UDS in my sleep, but these electric smokers are a new thing for me.

Give your self time to learn it . I went from a stick burner to a MES 30 ,,, I wasn't happy at first , but I love it now .

Thanks for the like Chop. This is my second smoker also, first was an ECB. It took a little time, but once I learned it's nuances I really enjoy using it.

I took out all the guts.... Don't use them, don't need them.... The chip tray can still be used on the element if you need to smoke some meats with chips or what ever... And the elbow fit better through the cleaned out hole...

Thanks everyone for the replies. I won't be firing this up till it warms up a bit here. In as much as I use to smoke in just about all weather, I'm just not inclined to these days especially when the temps are so low, so in the meantime I will spend time getting things ready.
