Hi everyone,

I'd like some "expert" advice from you all, I am looking to upgrade my weber upright charcoal bullet smoker to a propane or electric smoker. The weber is ok but I'd like to branch out and get just a bit more serious about smoking meats and maybe even trying cold smoking too.  I have been doing my research and am now more confused than ever. I have been investigating Masterbuilt, Outdoor Leisure, Brinkman to name a few and looking at some of the reviews associated with these smokers---Help!   anyone have any thoughts on what might be some good options?

Thanks

Smokin It electrics are getting some good reviews for great value, reliability and customer service. I used to be a masterbuilt fan for electrics but the new generation units are having lots of problems. I have one that worked for 2 weeks (3 smokes) in december and been waiting for parts ever since.

Oh yeah, sorry...... welcome to the forum and happy smokin'.

I think that I'm leaning toward a propane type but am hearing a lot of reviews of poor insulation that lets the smoke and heat out and units that have problems with achieving lower temps so I'll keep on investigating.

Thanks

If your model charcoal Weber is either the 18.5" or 22.5 Smokey Mountain (Bullet) that you want to upgrade, hold on to it as it is probably one of the best smoker/grills on the market for the money. Just add another smoker to your arsenal, as a person can never have too many... right tool for the right job!
