Wow. I hate decisions. After 2 weeks of research. My thoughts were leaning toward waiting for the new Masterbuilt 40" propane with thermostat control (not available yet). But, the Mes 40 from Amazon for 349.00 with free shipping and no interest for 6 months was to much to resist. I do think it is the 2011 model. Reading all the reviews and seeing some of the great looking food you folks do on it are what realy sold me. + convinience, economics, safety, I can use it in the winter on our covered deck, etc.,etc.,etc.. Just tell me I will love it and I will be tickled. Oh, and I will be ordering the A-Maze-N pellet smoker.

Red Dog,

We are in the same boat, I researched and went back and forth, but in the end, I could not wait any longer. I purchased MES 40 from Sam's, I'm smoking my first rack of ribs as we speak. I'm excited, but also nervous since I have never used an electric smoker before.

Post and let us know how it goes! I haven't used electric since my first smoker, 1975, a Little Chief. That was a far cry from the MES 40.
