After searching for one myself I bought this one
And good thing, it doesn't even look like Weber is offering them anymore. Weber Spirit II E-310 I have only used it once, so I haven't reported back to my thread yet asking for the same advice. I'm getting ready to use it quite a bit real soon though.
The first time I used it, I encountered the idiot safety regulator. God forbid you just crack open the tank willy-nilly instead of opening it slowly like you are terrified of it, the regulator will tell you to "talk to the hand" and restrict your gas flow. If it ticks me off again I will buy an unrestricted regulator with the valve that gives you full, grownup adult control.
The main reason I bought this one is its exact size and configuration. My grill parks in a little spot just inside the garage and gets pulled out on to a gravel driveway. Tiny little wheels wont work for me...and yes some models you can invest in bigger wheels to replace them but I wanted lift on left side, two wheels on the right side, facing the "business side" of the grill.
It's hard for folks to envision your exact situation, but the good people here will recommend quality gear. You have to think about your needs. Where is this going to be used and stored? If it's going to live outside 24-7, the all stainless is a good recommendation. That wasn't something I needed to spend the money on because like my van, my grill is "garage kept" (as is my MES30 smoker). And my garage is even climate controlled in the summer. Even if you have a grill cover, a grill kept outside, depending on where you live is going to go through all kinds of temps, humidity...condensation, etc.. If you live in paradise, its not as much of a problem.
The other thing to consider is how you want to use it. Are you throwing parties and grilling for dozens of people? Need a side burner? For me, nope. I'm usually grilling for two, maybe 6 sometimes and the side burner on my old grill would not turn down low enough to simmer something so it was somewhat useless. I have a 6 burner Viking cook-top just on the other side of the garage door in the garage if I need burners...then there is the kitchen. Also my electric skillet and my deep fryer both of which can be operated on the back deck if needed. Different tools for different jobs, my grill doesn't have to be "everything". You might want yours TO be though.
So for me, configuration, type of wheels/mobility, size, simplicity and quality were my deciding factors. I'm still breaking mine in, but I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with it in the long run, even if I DO have to buy an "adult" regulator for it someday.
Happy shopping! Look for the deals, the home improvement places often have really good deals. I got mine on clearance and saved some money.
