A Holler in North Iowa
Got the motor mounted today, belt on an gave the thing a test drive, WOW, it ground through 3 pounds a pork butt like nothin! I was runnin 3 an 4 inch square chunks through it an didn't even make her slow down none!

Does a perty nice job on the grind!

The motor is mounted to a piece of 3/4 plywood an that is mounted to a heavy duty hinge, use a carriage bolt to adjust the tension. this arrangement makes it easy to take apart fer cleanin. Don't know what the final RPM's are, but there just about right.

Got the project bout 90% complete. After everthins done to my satisfaction, it all comes apart for paint!

Man you did a great job there tip. Thats thing would grind up a horse if you could get it in there. Great job

Well, I found a pulley, Looks as though it is cheaper to buy the complete deal off of eBay than to buy the pulleu by it's self...

Yeah, shops a disaster area right now, gotta get some cleanin done before the snow flys an get the wood furnace hooked up. Wanna be able to work out there when it gets cold, to many projects, not enough time!

Yeah, them big pulleys are mighty expensive, but if ya got an impliment dealer round ya you might get one about that size off a combine, or a machine shop just might know where to get ya one cheaper to.

Hopefully the project will get finished up next weekend, gonna take a couple a days to paint it all, then get a switch wired up an some handles on it so I can move it around easier.

Then...............We make sausage!

You could also a reduction gear box instead of a belt and pulleys. I have seen the pulleys cheaper. Check around at your smaller hardware stores and also any farm supply stores. I have also seen cheaper knock off grinders complete with the pulley at TSC and Northerntools. I went with a gear box and direct couplers to connect everything.
