problem with smoking

i put my ribs in a little after 1pm.....and all i've wanted since then is a cold beer

TIMS, i don't see that as a problem. This is the beauty of smoking for long hours. As long as wifey ain't kicking your a**.

For me , a toast to the smoke gods at the begining of a smoke is pretty common. After that , beer makes a good timer for checking the fire , spraying , making sure the temps are good .....

But I'd hate to be a bad influance .....

That is the best reason to drink beer, all you have is lots of time while the food is smokin.

I believe that to alot of us, drinking beer while watching the smoker is part of the ritual.

i don't drink it often, except when fishing, jamming with guitars or cooking outdoors. just makes the time spent a little better, if you ask me.
