In central Missouri we don't have any of those stores - but we do have Gerbes - which is owned by Kroger.
Rib Roast - $9.99/lbs - Limit 2
If you buy the entire rib roast (about $120-$150 worth) - limit 3

I got two really nice ones. One from Kroger yesterday for $7 and this one from Albertson for $8. The one not pictured had even a better cap than this one.

Big whoopee Publix down here is $9.99 per #
I'm going to clean out my freezer as I have a stockpile of beef and pork and will hope for better prices at Easter.

Given the 2-3 year time frame to bring beef to market and when the drought/feed shortage that caused the previous beef sell-off and the current beef shortage started to end I suspect beef will remain high for at least a year, especially once retailers and wholesalers realize we're willing to pay higher prices than was the norm a few years ago.

Here in northwest North Carolina, Food lion is $7.99 (limit 1) and Publix is $9.99 for Choice grade. Publix will give you the entire 18-22# rib section at that price.

Harris-Tetter is $8.99, no grade mentioned and Lowes foods is $8.99 for Select.

Do our grocery stores have empty shelves as a Russian store?
Not since the Covid
Friend is a regional manager of a large food distribution company. He told me how they have manipulated the market to raise meat prices not only for them but all other sources.

18.99$ at Fareway here in Iowa! It doesn’t say if they are a whole roast or a chunk of it.
Send a couple my way that you guys are finding at 7.99$!!
Iowa needs more grocery chains besides HyVee and Fareway……

Finally down to 9.99lb but for that price it’s a whole packer. If it’s cut then it’s 12.99lb.

Ran to Gerbes yesterday evening (owned by Kroger) and bought a 4 pound and a 5 pound "rib roast". About half were "rib roast" and about half were "prime" rib. Pretty happy with my $9.99/lbs choices

My nephew bought a 4 bone rib roast from Food Lion and brought it to me to break down and cut into steaks. Good looking roast, USDA Choice. Yielded 4 1½" steaks and 3 1" thick steaks...

The ribs weighed 2.25 lbs. so I did the math and he paid $9.78/lb. just for the boneless steaks. Pretty good deal in today's world...
