Price comparison is the gosm 3695gsd and master built xl. Is it worth it

So cabela is selling the master built 40 inch xl for 229.00 and landmann site is selling their 36 inch model for 424.00. Is gosm really worth almost two hundred more?

You can get the Landmann (GOSM) 38", 2 drawer, propane, vertical smoker from Costco on-line for $270 and it includes a $80 cover. I love mine...but I just started and have no experience with the Masterbuilt.

I think you will find that the GOSM is better out of the box than the XL. But the XL can be made into just as good of a performer with some mods. I would say the $200 trade off is the handyman value. Are you handy? If not, it will cost you $200, lol. I have less than $400 in my XL, and its thermostat controlled and running on natural gas...
