That's a great idea CS, I got to give it a try sometime soon. And the baking soda instead of lye is something I would never have thought of.
 
That pretzel dog looks delicious! I’m sure a good mustard and sauerkraut put it over the top.

I bet a beer cheese dip for dunking would be pretty awesome too!
 
They look great! I was in Germany for 4 years and loved the Altbier. But Dunkel ruled. I used to have it delivered to my apt. like milk. Ah, the good ol days....
