Pre-Heating a cooler?

I've used a cooler plenty of times to holds butts but it seems like I have seen some of you mention pre-heating a cooler. I've searched that term and didn't come up with anything. If your doing this what is your method? Got a decent size group coming over for the wifes b-day tomorrow and what to start with plenty of time to spare...always takes longer than I think it should.

Maybe a Hot water bottle would be a good idea. Just a thought

I use a heating pad, throw my towels in to pre heat as well.I only do this when i have more than 1 or i need to hold it for a while.

This time of year they are so hot when I bring one in from the garage it's not an issue. I need to precool it to use it for its original intended purpose.

Thanks for the ideas, I used the hot water thought. Worked out well.
