Local grocer has butts on sale for 99¢/lb. this week and I've bought a few for sausage, but decided to bone one out and cut some pork steaks for the grill. Simple enough and an easy meal...

Seasoned with Kinder's Bourbon Peach rub and on the grill with indirect heat supplied by a couple of hickory splits...

They're getting right so I sauced with a Carolina Gold sauce a couple of times...

Let that set up for a few and it's time to pull them...

Served with roasted red potatoes and carrots and cabbage pan seared with bacon. Time to eat...

Nothing fancy, just a simple, easy meal that turned out pretty good...
 
Looks delicious. I had pork steaks for dinner too except with a salad and acorn squash. The better half likes the fat more rendered out so I usually put them into a aluminum pan for 45 min with some water and cover after grilling. Then sauce, set and serve. They were a staple growing up in STL with mauls bbq sauce. The sauce has been impossible to find anymore since they got sold which is a shame. Used the last gallon a few months ago.

That's at the Dierbergs on the corner of 70 and Salt River . Any of the Dierbergs stores would have it . When you make your trip to the hill stop by and load up .
When we run to Lake Ozark - we did find it at Dierbergs.
I think Schnucks carries it as well and we have one of those in town - we just forget to go there.

Charles they look fantastic, and love the sauce also. Could go for a nice plate of yours right now.

We are all about pork steak and chops here. Mona would have no problem have that a few times a week. She likes hers basted with Soya sauce, with mashed potatoes and butter

I was just in stl a few weeks ago but didnt look while there. Guess I should have. I did when in kc last week but nada. Same here in sw mo where nobody carries it anymore. They are sold out online. Will have to have the units pick me some up.
