The wife was at the store today and snagged pork shoulders for $0.79 a pound. They were marked down from the original price of $1.69 a pound as the sell by date was tomorrow. Only had two and this price, so we bought them both for less than half price each.
If you ask your meat counter manager when they mark down the meat, it's usually on the same day or days of the week each week. We make it a point to stop by around 3pm on those days as that is when they are in the process of marking stuff down.
Now the question is what to make with these? I say sausage, but the wife and daughter want pulled pork. Perhaps a compromise is in order, one shoulder for pulled pork the other for grinding into sausage. Now what "kind" of sausage shall I make? Hmmmm.....
