Hey all,
I’m going to brine 2-5 lbs pork bellies in Pop’s brine. I don’t have a big enough container for the bellies, can I use big ziplockbags?
Thanks

Yes. Be sure they are sealed. Would hate for it to leak all over the fridge

Thanks for all the replies, can you use those disposable aluminum roasting pans with the plastic covers?

If the meat is in a zip bag, then it "can" be put in a disposable aluminum container as leak protection... I would not use aluminum for a brining bucket.. "maybe" if it was marine grade aluminum and nothing else was available..

I have brined a corned beef in a 2+ gallon zip lock.
Remove all the air
place bag in a drip catching container (zip locks do leak a bit I find)
put in coldest part of the fridge

Thanks Dave, good idea Holly, got me thinking I have 2 Lems meat lugs with my sausage eguipment, so I dug those out. I'll put the 2 bellies in the bags of brine, and contain them in the lugs. One more question. Does the brine container have to be covered?
Thanks again all
