In my profile it says I have 12 points.  What are they for and how do you earn them?

Ok you start with 10 points when you join. Then people give you points for a good post or for helping them. Then it is like the show " who's line is it anyway" where the points don't matter. It is a nice feeling when someone gives you a point. So anytime you thank someone has done a good job on a post or has helped you give them a point.
