Plum Wood

Is there any market for plum wood?

I have hundreds of plum trees in a pasture I’m going to clear...

I was going to keep some to use for smoking.... but the rest I was just going to push into a ditch or into a pile and burn.

Anyone know people who have an interest in buying plum wood?

From what I remember, it’s similar to hickory, but a bit sweeter.

I’ll look into it. I’ll puke a bunch up and let it cure a bit.

Im planning on getting a PTO driven chipper for my tractor later this year, so I could potentially bag it up and ship in bulk if there’s an interest

It would be a shame to burn it or push it into a ditch.

Plum wood (or for that matter any fruit wood) is great for smoking. Advertise it locally and I will bet you get rid of every bit! If I lived closer I would swing by for some.
