I can not find away to upload a post into reviews

You're doing a Great job on these reviews. You're making me considering a new purchase. I used the AMNPS in my MES (before the MOD) with good results. It doesn't seem to need too much airflow. I am curious as to where the air inlet is on the Pit Boss?
Poor little single egg.

I'm lookin at these more everyday . I've found the 5 for $299 . I'd like to see the 4 in person but no displays .
Good info Richie .

Eggs are like cheese. You have to let them rest a day or three after smoking. Otherwise the taste is not desirable. But that's just my take on them

It gets the air from the grease drain.

Don here is a pic of the bottom, you can see how it gets enough air to burn the pellets.

Nice work and great review!
I have a hunch that the over smoked flavor you are sensing may be partially/fully a result of stale smoke.

On my MES I eliminated that flavor by making a draft/airflow assist device. It is basically a cardboard tube with a blower fan that blows up the tube. I place that over my MES vent and it sucks/drafts the smoke up through the MES causing circulation and flow to avoid stale smoke :)
I think those pitboss vertical smokers have towers/stacks so the same idea may be more difficult to pull off but I'm sure it is not impossible.

Just figured I would offer up this info as food for thought. Here my little assist device:

In addition to the grease drain, it should draft air through the fan and the path of the fan to the fire pot should it not? Not saying the fan is on, but that air flow path still should draft some.

Dave I agree and I also think the pellet hopper will also allow air flow.

Yeah that can easily be the case for a single egg, it's not exactly a 5 pound chicken cooking super fast lol. I burn 2 rows of my AMNPS on my quick smokes and it works well for me in that application. Anything 6 hours or more I only burn 1 row.

Glad it came out alright. I "assume" this was shell on the egg? Did much of it pass through to the egg itself?

No shell hard boiled.
