So what’s the real deal? I have looked at lots of threads. Seems most of the advice is against pine and pine ply for smoke houses, but also seems some of the most popular(and fine) house threads are pine and pine ply.
So . . . ? Cold smoke only? OK for hot smoke too? Still best not to?
I have always intended to build a smoke house when I have a lull in chores and the pines are so affordable comparatively. Had always assumed it would be OK for cold smoke but maybe questionable for hot smoking. I’d want it mostly for cold smoking, but would be handy to use sometimes for hot as well.
On a different but related note, what’s the most cost efficient way to by hardwood for a smoker build?
Thanks.
