I have some that have called my flat roof over the garage home. They nested behind my 2 swamp coolers and have tried to block their access with wire mesh, 2x4 s etc. I also bought some netting, and some sticky glue stuff and so far nothing has worked.

I tried to find a poision online and you have to be a licnensed exterminator to buy it. I know they have spikes also and owl statues. I just want to poision them already. And I don't own a gun, and I live in the city.

Any home remedies out there?

Thanks.

Ron,

I would suggest taking some of your Q and tossing it in the neighbors yard, that will keep them away from your place. J/K - did you try fox urine??

They'll just sit on the owl. Here be illegal ta kill em, so, when I was in commercial maintenance I'd spray em with air conditioner coil cleaner. Bout 3 days later them da#n thins be runnin round nakie cause all there feathers fell out! That makes fer a good laugh!

Back in college I had an old roommate that moved out of our apartment into a small house. One day went over there and he had seeded the yard and was sitting at the window with a rifle in hand. Had a freezer full of pigeons. Sounds better if you call them squab.

ron a coiled rubber snake keeps woodpeckers from tapping on my cooler-I don't mind them other palces but makes a racket through the duct work.

Ron, being that is what I do for a living I can help ya. But a pic of the area would be real helpful so I can see what you got goin on.
But don't use mothballs, ammonia or urine, that stuff doesn't work.

Almost spit my beer out Trav.

No I don't have any foxes here. Where do you get it?

I don't care what you call them, I ain't gonna eat them, but they are pretty big.

That happened to me in California. They nested under my roof mounted AC. Feathers were getting into the coils and clogging everything up. I sprayed them with my garden hose, just once, and they vanished.

Ron you might check Bass Pro or Cabelas and see if they have any fox scent. It may not be available until trapping season though.

Ron,
If they are in a specific place like on top of the cooler, or on a ledge, place carpet tack strips down, they really dont like walking on those tacks, or throw a hungry cat up there.

Carpet tack strips may be worth a try, cheap for sure.
Thanks Marty.

Have you thought about rigging a 12 volt car battery to the wire mesh?

It used to make chickens dance when we were kids and if it doesn't get rid of them... at least it might be interesting to watch

You know Ron you might just catch them and smoke them. Pigeon is also known as Squab. To my knowledge we haven't had anyone post about smoking them.

No,thanks anyway. Let somone else do it, lol. I just want them to be gone.

What if you sprinkled your roof with rice? They used to do that back in the northeast on buildings that the pidgeons would roost on. They'd eat the rice, it'd expand, they'd die.

Sorry to hear about your bird prob Ron. I got an ex-wife prob any suggestions there?

Pigeon is good eating. We used to marinate it, wrap half a breast in bacon and grill it - indirect heat. Slice & eat. Sometimes we'd pound it thinner with a meat hammer, cook the same way, then put it on a bun with mayo, lettuce & tomato. Same for doves, only they're a lot smaller. Just dont overcook, it'll get dry & tough.

FYI, never ate a city pigeon, only farm pigeons.
