We had the best weather today for smoking cheese.  It never reached 80 and the wind was just enough to keep the tube smoker flowing perfectly.

While I was smoking the cheese, I made some teriyaki wings to snack on.  I know they're not smoked, but I figured while I was taking pictures, I'd just throw that one in.

FWIW, I made them in the New Wave oven.  I think everyone should own one of those things.  The Dr. said I had to start eating healthier and this thing really helps.  My typical cook in the New Wave is roasted veggies.  Today I splurged  :)

On to the Q-View!

Cheese on the rack.  I don't like the wire marks I usually get when I smoke cheese, so I'm trying out just putting it down on foil and turning halfway through the process.

Finished product.  I vacuum packed it in some ziploc vacuum bags for mellowing.  You can't really tell it here, but the blocks actually have some good color.  Not as dark as I've gotten before, but as this is cojack cheese, I didn't want to leave it on the smoker very long.  I still did about 2.5 hrs...

I've labeled and stored the bags in our extra fridge in the garage.  A little out of sight, out of mind tactic.   I hate to wait, so if I don't have to see the bags every day, I will hit the garage fridge next month and there'll be a surprise for me.

Figured I'd toss in the pic of the wings.  I actually made both the drummets and the other part, but didn't take a picture of them.  The boys ate them all before I got a chance to get a picture.  In fact, they were almost gone by the time I came back inside from checking the cheese.  I'm lucky I got this pic...

There you have it folks.  Perfect weather for smoking cheese.  And a great day to eat some wings.

Looks good. I am a little skeptical that the Nu Wave is worth it, but if you can get behind it, I will have to take second look...JJ

I typically figure all these 'as seen on tv' things are a bunch of crap.  But my wife wanted that nu wave oven pretty bad so I spent the 100 bucks a couple of years ago and got her one.  I have not been more pleased that I did.  The thing promises a good chicken and delivers.  I wouldn't cook beef in it at all.  Ruins beef.  Chicken and pork however couldn't come out better.

Yes, it really will roast a frozen chicken as advertised.  I had to see for myself.  It came out very juicy and cooked all the way through in a very short amount of time.  One thing.  Don't try this with a chicken that has the giblets packed inside.  You won't like the results. :)

And like I said about the roasted veggies...  Well, I never was much on eating vegetables at all until this thing.  A little coating of olive oil and salt & pepper and roast for about 5-10 minutes.  It's like a pro chef did the cooking in a fancy restaurant.  We roast asparagus, corn, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, potatoes, brussel sprouts, squash and zucchini, etc...  It's all been fantastic.

I've convinced a couple of people to buy one of these ovens and neither one came back to me complaining...  :)

BTW, the directions for the wings is as follows:

Cook the wings in the nu wave oven for about 20 minutes or until they start to crisp up, turn them halfway through.  (At this point, they will be completely done inside.)

Take them off the rack and place into a large bowl.  Toss with your favorite wing sauce.

I use several different flavors, but BBQ and teriyaki work great like this because the sauce gets nice and sticky :)

Put the sauced wings back on the rack for another 12 minutes to set the sauce.

Chow down.

These wings are slap yo' momma good...
