pellets/ charcoal

Has anyone ever mixed pellets and charcoal? Was wondering since I've seen pellets burning away in a friends wood stove... maybe cut down on ashes? Anyways just wanted to know if they could all be mixed up, chunks of wood, pellets and charcoal.

Hello.  SURE.  No problem.  Just like adding wood chips to charcoal.  Mix and match away.  Keep Smokin!
