Trying to get ideas about how I want to do mine.  Tired of having a drawer full of utensils in one spot in our kitchen, charcoal/wood chips in another, grills scattered about the patio, and no workspace outside when I need it.  Basically looking to use either decorative stone/brick or have considered fabricating something with cement board or the like that would be flame resistant.  My FIL built one by stacking landscaping stones, slid his grill in, and poured his own concrete counter tops to set on each side of the grill.

I kinda like what he did, but would like to see what others have done. I would also like some weather tight storage to keep water, critters, and creepy crawlies out.

Unfortunately, I'm on a budget.  Searching the internet for patio kitchens and the like I have only found really nice, uber expensive professionally installed/designed outfits that are not feasible for my home or checkbook.  Therefore, any ideas, thoughts, or experiences on the patio kitchen building experience will be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

I also did a lot of looking before I built mine.   I don't have any storage, but I'm about 20ft back of the garage.  I keep all my stuff in there.  I plan to build a pizza oven  on the end in the future.   Then a deck area.

Thanks for sharing.  That is really nice - good work! For whatever reason, I hadn't really considered regular brick.  Should have been a no-brainer since 3/4 of our house is brick.
