Catfish has been getting more expensive and getting very hard to find any that is not enhanced with STPP! I thinking of trying Pacific Whiting? Anyone try it? I fry my fish with cornmeal breading. My last catfish I caught was very strong tasting. With lake levels down hard to find a spot on bank to fish anymore. Man I miss the Fish from Michigan!

Whiting is a nice mild white fish more comparable to Cod than catfish but still a very worthy fish. I’ve enjoyed it every time I’ve ate it.

Smaller catfish are normally better, flathead catfish are known to be good any size but I can't verify :emoji_laughing: , also what type of water they come from will affect taste.

I know what you mean Brian. Here's a little one caught on my boat last week. Pictures don't do it justice, but at least 20 lbs. I snapped a quick pic before it was released...

This was a by-catch, was not targeting cats...
