Out with the old deck - in with the new

What brand of decking did you go with?

texomakid - My new deck is Fiberon Good Life - Tuscan Villa is the color. $150/board We also considered Duralife (Tropical Walnut) but liked the color option better with Fiberon.

The price difference between the various brands was crazy. Our #1 choice was $2,000 more so we went with our #2 choice and it looks great.

Bought a new house in 2021 and got a Composite deck built that leads to a 20x20 patio with a full fireplace.
Out having coffee on the deck portion and the wife says "its cool out here. We need some sun". The deck faces West so no sun until about noon or so. Some sun creeps onto the side in the morning so thats where she put her chair that day.
Yesterday had the same builder come to look at expanding the deck for us. Best part is they can use the existing materials so it wont be a large expense to add 6 ftx 16 ft. Just need 13 x 20 ft boards ( I didnt care to cut off 4 ft of board as I wanted zero butt ends) and a section of glass railing and of course the supports underneath.
