I have been a very long time poster and do not post as much as many others on this site. I have always made sure that my posts are always positive and respectful to others.

When I do make a post on something unusual or at least new to me I make sure to include pictures and an ingredient list so others can try and do it themselves.

I did not expect to be added to the list but was humbled when other members thought enough of my posts that I would be included in this category.

This is a rare category that is not based on how many posts you make but the quality of the ones you do make.

I suppose most of us who have the designation didn't see a nomination coming. I can go months between posts. I pretty much suck at taking pictures unless there's a specific reason so you aren't likely to find a smoke or cook of mine in the featured rotation. If I had to boil down what is most likely to get you nominated it goes something like this:

Stay humble.

Be patient, kind and helpful.

Be factual, relevant and stay on point when the thread demands that.

Be informative and, when needed, steer conversations back on track without being condescending or overbearing.

Be willing to answer even the most basic questions and help folks learn how to find some of the incredible amount of info here when they can benefit from it.

Be willing to help others learn from our mistakes and be willing to acknowledge that there's almost always more than one right answer.

We we were all new here once and even those of us who came with a lot of knowledge and experience still had to establish a certain level of credibility here to be something other than background noise.
