I expect that being given the honor came as a surprise to most of us who were nominated and accepted, myself included.

Fastest way I know of it to be friendly and helpful to people on SMF. Of course pictures and threads showing you know your way around smoke are a criteria as well, but being helpful is a huge part of it IMO.

I absolutely never ever saw it coming. It's not something you tryout for but earn by doing what you would've done anyway. And that's what makes it such an honor.

What’s up buddy? I’m back and better than ever. Just spent about $15k on an offset smoker. Don’t know to use it but it sure looks nice! Good to hear from you!

I feel better that I'm not the only one that thought that lol. I was serious in saying good to see him back, prior to this his last posting was in Oct 2025 unless my search is messed up. So anyway let's see that smoker and some cooks!
