Older Scotts Rotary Pull Behind Fertilizer Settings

Hey folks,

I have a 25 or 30 year old Scotts spreader and I can no longer find the paper that had the settings on it.
(hell, I never lose things in my shop)

I am looking to apply some 46-0-0 urea on the yard around September/October.
I know the rate is 1# per 1000 sq feet.
I can calibate the spreader, but it would just be a whole lot easier if somebody had a copy of this paper from Scotts.

Anybody happen to have a copy they could insert here??
Or just look-up this urea and give me the setting.

It basically looks just like the new ones.
Right now, it's pouring down rain and the batteries are dead in the camera.

AI comes up with between 3-4.5 on standard Scotts rotary spreader to safely apply roughly 0.5 to 1 lb per 1000 sq feet. More info such as specific model can be put forth for further information.
Check other sources such as lawn care forums, as AI is not always correct.

Yeah , but it will depend on the model . Like easy green , Edge Guard , Elite ,, Because the openings are all different sizes . I have a few different push style , and the settings don't match on any of them . So I use 5 for everything . Lol . Not suggesting you do .

They generally recommend to fertilize in two passes, done at half-rate and at right angles (or at least, some angle) to each other.

So if all else fails, make your best guess on the setting, apply the first half-rate pass, see how much fertilizer was used, and adjust the setting appropriately before making the second pass.

It's better to use too little than too much.

Thanks for the insight guys.

Since this urea is kinda powerful stuff, I think the best thing to do is measure out 1000 sq ft on the driveway and add 1# of the urea and see how a setting of 4 works out.

They have a " settings tool " on the website . Maybe you saw it . Didn't show Urea but the fall fertilizer 32-0-10 came up with 3 1/2 . Not sure how that compares .

This stuff is 46-0-0.

I actually used to apply it to kill the grass on purpose where my wife wanted to make new flowerbeds.
Worked great for that.
