Started here 14yrs ago as flald. Live in North Central Florida. Got old. Life occurred. Old smoker died. But I now have grandchildren that I would like to introduce to the wonders of smoked meat.

Was in Ollies and saw a brand new SG 24 Camp Chef for $299. I am now a pellet grill/smoker guy!

As my 1st grade teacher used to say "Learning is an exciting adventure" lol

What should I start with?

Why not log in under your previous name?

Either way welcome back.

Welcome back. Looking to relocate back to N. FL myself. I'm jealous.

Probably want to figure out where and what type of pellets you want to get. I'm perfectly happy with the smokehouse blend at SAMS but if you want to spend a little more, Academys has a punch of flavors.

I think a nice back to smoke cook is the ole pork butt. They are hard to mess up and won't kill you in the pocket.

@Ardvark do you want to use your old name?
I don't know. Ardvark has kind of followed me around the internet for a bunch of years. flald, I had forgotten. Took me a while to hunt it down. I did remember my old smoked mullet recipe and that post is still here!

Yes, I think I would like to reclaim my old flald handle, please.

Academy, you say (rubbing hands gleefully) and I just happen to have a spare pork butt around (B1G1 at Publix)
