He hasn't stopped by Oregon this year! The boys have been bugging me to go camping. Loaded up the camper and headed into the dirt. Had 55 degree days and 16!degree nights. Looked for horns, burnt fire wood and did some geocaching. Here's a few shots of the views. We camped at an old homestead in an are known as Grandview Oregon. These were free homestead parcels that were to be irrigated. The reservoir that was to supply the water failed and the irrigation never came.

We came out of the dirt via Lake Billy Chinook. It's a reservoir that is formed by Pelton Dam. Which holds back the Deschutes, Crooked, and Metolious rivers. It's a big recreation lake and is super busy during the summer season.

Boys wanted to do some geocaching so we found a few of those.

One if those caches was in this Cemetary, even older than Grandviews.

We wrapped our trip up with a stop at Beetle Baileys in Culver for milkshakes and burgers. I've been stopping there after camping since I was a boy.

Great  times Case. I love that area around Billy Chinook. We used to camp at the cove and hunt deer by boat up the Deschutes. Set crawfish pots on our way up the river and pick them up on our way back to camp. Nothing like a meal of fresh crawfish and kokanee.

If you and the boys ever visit Honolulu you should make punchbowl a must stop! It's official name is national cemetery of the pacific.

Grandpa Woody is buried there

Hey Clay used to live LBC back when I was a kid. Then it got too darn busy. Would be nice right now, there was only about 20 boats out.

We camp up above a couple times a year and look for shed. Wasn't much up there ran into a few Other hunters we know and they've been out the past couple weekends, slim pickins on the horns. Camping was good though. Hadn't been to Beetle Baileys since the late 90's still a good stop for like much or breakfast!

Aweaome pics Case.

I wish I could send ya some of my snow.

I had to plow tonight, again.

Hey I will look that up if we ever go back to Honolulu. My great uncle was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He went back every year until he died.

Geocaching is the midern day treasure hunt!

We always tried to go after Labor Day when the crowds thinned out. We stopped going there in the early 90's and started going to Tenmile Lakes over on the coast. Had some great times over there fishing the lake and crabbing in Winchester Bay.

We probably passed each other there many times! When I was charter fishing out of Depoe Bay We always did a big week long camp trip after Labor Day at LBC. All us boat operators would come over and get drug around the lake on skis and ski biscuits!

Case that is some awesome pictures POST CARDS really nice and quality time with the boys. Thanks for sharing
