Ok guys I just picked my new Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn smoker up and getting started on the mods. I've ordered the gaskets for the doors and trying to figure out what I want to do about the firebox opening. Has any one here lowered their firebox so the entrance into the cooking chamber is lower. I was thinking on lowering it down far enough to where all I would have left in the cooking chamber is a small lip to stop drippings from entering the firebox. This way I could drop my baffle and tuning plates down to keep clearance between them and the cooking grates. I'm up for any suggestions.
