Wow! HUGE diffrence. Readers digest version...........

I always bought 8 oz. bottles of maple extract from watkins which they have now discontinued. Thinking it ridicious to buy enough 2 oz bottles I looked for another source. I found Maple oil at American spice and they said it was the same thing. Being my normal skeptical self but trusting everyone that first time, Ok, I get a BIG bottle.

Oils are NOT the same as extracts onviously. Oils are normal used in high temp cooking so they hold their flavors. because unlike extract made with alcohol they don't evaporate. Thats the first difference.

Listen a little bit of oil goes a long futher than extract. I would guess 5 to 1 or even greater.

So if you know something else I have not discovered yet, please inform me. I hate ruining food learning.

Was this ingredient part of the Bacon just Bacon, Ode To Bacon and Even More Bacon project?
