Hi Folks,
For years, I have used my Stoker on my pit with the blower air coming from the rear of the firebox. It just was easier to mount it hidden away. I have a hole drilled and a tube (pipe, heater hose) running from there into a truck box on the backside of my smoker, where the blower is mounted.
Ole Sparky is away at the 4x4 shop getting lifted, sandblasted, and a gorgeous new coat of paint after 3 years in the Louisiana humidity and improper care. Lifted because I am tall and he is short...ha, a lift kit on a smoker! Welcome to Louisiana!
The $10 or $0.10 question is, with the damper closed as Rock's says to run the stoker blower, am I making my fire and flow less efficient by going against the natural flow of the smoker?
Or, am I just overthinking it?
