Ok, fellow smokers, I have to say, lately I have been on a run
. Not to brag, but I have been shopping sales and have been running across what I feel are some great deals
, Boston Butts 1.29lb, chicken breast for .79lb, pork chops .99lb, pork loin 1.79lb chuck roast 2.88, top round sirloin 3.33lb, asparagus 1.00lbs and many more deals that I can think of right now. With a family of 4, I like to buy in bulk and save when/where I can. Since I've been finding all of these deals, I've been on a buying spree, I have been buying one or two extras when I can afford to so I can have something extra to smoke
. In the last maybe 6 weeks, I have bought so much, my wife told me Friday that I could not buy anything else to put in the freezer anymore
. Now here’s where the problem comes in, with everything I have going on right now (me in school, my son graduating, chasing my daughter’s flag tournaments all over the state and the best of all, my transmission going out in my truck
). I haven’t had time to fire up the smoker to smoke any of the deals that I have been stocking up on. I finally have a free day, Sunday to fire up the smoker, so I was going to smoke some chucks for Sammie's (which I have never done before
)….. I picked out 2 really nice ones for my first try at it
….So, I get up this morning to find my wife cooking one of them …………Now, what you have to picture is me at 5:45am half asleep this morning, walking through the kitchen to get some water and fine that she has my chuckie thawing in a pan of water….I said HHhheeeeyyyyy,that for Sammie's !!!!!! she said too bad
, it going to be roast, rice and gravy tonight…… Man, I may have to take a day off just to take some time to myself and do a little smoking…..I think I’m going through withdrawals
…..plus if I don’t she’s going to cook all of my deals before I can get to smoke any of them……
.... jk….She is cooking dinner for the family, I don’t care that she is cooking it, It’s just the way she said I acted half asleep
, she said that you would have thought that someone took my smoker away from me !!!!! Looks like I’m going meat shopping again, Wooo Hooooo
