Anybody want 80lbs of pellets? 😁 . All the other briskets I have done have had excellent smoke taste ,the ring I agree makes no flavor, but I use it like the rings of a tree, tells me how my smoke went, more of a guage. I use the pellet smoker because its a set it and forget it, have too much to do around the acreage to sit for 16hrs and tend a fire. Looks like im heading back to town to buy better quality pellets. 👌

Corey, this link should help you worry less about a smoke ring.

Lots of reasons you may not get a smoke ring, nothing to do with the pellets.

An environment with insufficient oxygen won’t produce NO.
A dry surface will prevent the smoke from adhering and penetrating.
At high temperatures (above 140*F) myoglobin will denature and unable to bond with NO.
Too much rub acts as a barrier.

As others say, no taste impact, but visually appealing.

I've used costco pellets in the past and haven't had issues with them in my Traeger that I can recall. My only complaint is that they only sell competition blend rather than apple, cherry, hickory etc. Cherry gives bacon such a nice mahogany color
