So now I cant want MNF because YouTube and Disney are in a spat. WTH! $90 a month for millions and they cant make a deal?

I googled how to watch MNF for free and struck out. Anyone have any ideas? We have zero antenna reception in the MTNS, so thats out.

Yeah the whole system of trying to watch sports games is getting to be BS. I was just thinking that I wanted to watch some playoff baseball, nope don't have the right subscriptions and I'm not paying extra or 24hr fee for teams I normally don't watch, it's just normally playoff ball typically seemed more fun to watch. Growing up with the farmers 5 we could watch lots of different sports easily and with better technology it is more difficult and really getting expensive.

This football season I've done the standalone ESPN Unlimited app. Its $30 a month, but I dropped YouTube TV at $80 a month. Works for us.

Then I got the Fox One app for $20 a month and I've got college football covered.

And there's an option to bundle ESPN Unlimited with the Fox One app for $40 a month total.

I get my NFL OTA.

Come February, I'll drop Fox One. Will keep ESPN for college baseball.

I feel your pain. My Directv online has not had cbs for two years now. I think they totally stopped trying to work it out because it no longer shows up in my guide. My bill did not go down though. It isnt free but reasonably priced if you go with an iptv provider like imax. There are several out there. I think a two year plan for two devices is like $250. That is like two months of directv.

UGH. I'll need to see what options we have. there is no OTA signal up here, so it YouTube TV, Dish, and Comcast cable TV. I probably dislike the latter two more than YouTube...

OTA TV really ought to be provided by YT, Comcast, Dish etc. for free no matter what. I mean its free if you live anywhere with signal.

Sucks not be able to use an antenna in your area.
Its a trade off. We live at 8200 ft, in the trees with deer, elk and bears for neighbors. Some things just dont work up here. When we first moved in a neighbor (human) told me "you need to be self-sufficient or very patient". So we will deal with it.

Seems dumb that rebroadcasting free OTA is such a thing. I know people on Dish know all about it.

Not a huge sports guy so not the best to say but it has been prediction we will eventually all have to pay NFL to watch ANY game etc. I think eventually everything becomes a la carte sorta. Pretty sure you can subscribe to CBS already. Something like that. Anymore I do searches for this sorta stuff as I said not a huge sports guy. As of late Reddit is my current fave. Honestly tho sucks for you as YES antenna is the real secret and totally free. There are a few boxes you can buy to use with the antenna to make it even better. YES all of this IS a PITA to learn and understand but can be really cool. I am totally in LOVE with cutting the cord. Roku was the right move for us. Wish I did a decade ago. What I have gleaned over the years of all of this is to get a NICE antenna mount on roof or in attic then pair to a Tablo/etc which streams and records. Tablo now has a Roku app.

I miss Tablo. We used it for years in SLC. worked good enough.

Gonna try the ABC app on Roku. its streaming live news right now. I have a strong suspicioun the game wont air on it but who knows. Gonna also see what the ESPN app and NFL app cost monthly. Many years ago NFL was not too bad but I hear it costly now.

OK, the NFL Roku app has a minimal plan for $6.99/month and I believe it broadcasts most games..."Local and primetime". That should get us MNF.

Anyone use this service?

Sounds like a couple big college games are only on ABC as well. Folks are gonna get chippy pretty quick. Hope they fix it. if not ESPN app with a $7 subscription should cover it. Might mook at other packages. They used to have one that had all the previous games streaming anytime, which I liked. I could watch every game each weekend and be entertained.

It is not uncommon for larger channels to try and renegotiate fees. This leads the you tube/dish/direct tv to block the channels for a certain time period. They always come around and decide to work together. Each side will end up making more money and we'll pay more next year. Disney/ESPN/HULU etc are on the Disney App. I think we get that thru Verizon? Cutting the cord saved money a few years ago...but prices now are getting closer if you get several apps.

See now that is kinda where I think we're headed. Gonna cost BUT will have some cool perks. EVERY time this comes up I learn more. Found out a month ago that I can watch local news by their Roku app. It's weird as it goes dead during commercials but doable. A few more channels do that and no need for antenna at all. On that note (cliff notes end of OTA)

I just need it fixed by tomorrow at 3:30 for the Florida/Georgia game. Making contingency plans now to use a buddy's hulu login.
