Ok, I am probably not the first, but I am going to give this a try. A number of reasons …
1. I rarely cook for more than the missus and me these days
2. seems a lot of days it’s just too damn hot or too wet to fire up the Weber or Rec-Teq, and I could run this in the garage
3. All the female relatives and friends do not like a strong smoke profile
4. I’m just getting either older or lazier, or both.
5. Buying direct I get 90 days money back and a 3-year warranty.
6. I’ve spent more in stupider ways/things 🤪

So just ordered the Pro Connect XL direct for $360 with a cover, meat hooks, pellets (like I need more 🙄), and warranty.
We shall see … planning test cooks with ribs, wings, burgers, and butt.
If it’s all that and a bag of chips, I may even sell my Performer and RT-590

I also have been eyeballing them to see if they go on sale. You can maybe get your place on the enablers list. 😂

A buddy of mine picked one up and sent the link for it. My wife bought one for me. Not sure if we really need it, but couldn’t beat the price. Picked up the I believe model OG 900. she paid like 180 otd.

I am a big fan of Ninja and have several of tier appliances.

Good deal... 2 separate reviews...
Gonna be a little while before I do a review. I’ve had the unit for well over a month now but back/spine surgery I can’t lift more than 5 to 8 pounds. Not sure how long that’s gonna last so it’ll have to wait till I’m back in action.

If mine arrives on time I hope to do a couple cooks this weekend.

We can wait.

A review is nowhere's near as important as your recovery... So please do not rush it and do everything the Dr. tells you...

I’ve had any number of procedures (hips, shoulders, back, heart, chest, …) with those lift/twist/bend restrictions. What’s really hard is keeping all that in mind after you start feeling pretty good but not out of the woods. Be patient.

I’m definitely trying hard to be doing everything I’m supposed to be doing andI’m trying not to do what I’m not supposed to be doing

Yeah, once I get the greenlight from the doctor, I’ll mess with it. Not quite sure when that’s gonna happen. I will post up when I can.

Definitely trying to be patient and do everything I’m supposed to. originally like you said no lifting bending twisting the twisting part has been lifted but hard not bending or lifting anything. I’ve lifted a few things without thinking and can feel it when I do and my wife is gonna be real happy when I can bend again because she’s tired of putting my socks on for me lol But I’m trying to be as good as I can be. I don’t wanna go through this again if I can help it.

Everything arrived a day early and apparently unscathed. Will take that as a good omen since it seems increasingly rare.

We bought one for the FIL and he absolutely loves it, been a couple years ago I’m thinking. He has not used the smoke function yet, but loves every other aspect of the cooker.

So these are the test cooks I am contemplating, largely based on what frequency these may appear on my other grills:

Ribs
Wings
Butt
Bacon-wrapped bnls thighs
Burgers/dogs/kielbasa

Any other suggestions that make sense to test this device?
(BTW, looking for some charcoal pellets to also use but seem to be out of stock here. I’m guessing the Lumberjack Char Hickory best to use, and Royal Oak 100% Charcoal a contender?)
