I have recently won a Brinkmann Gourmet charcoal grill/smoker. I have never smoked anything. I live in Eastern Iowa. Any advice for newbie to smoking?

Welcome to the board! We get a lot of people new to smoking because they received a gift smoker for Xmas or father's day, but not many people who win their smokers. Use the Search here to look it up and see what people do with them. I'm burning sticks in an offset.
