Hey guys
I'm new to the world of pellet grills, I have a Weber smokey mountain charcoal smoker which I've used for years but just a few weeks ago I went to a buddies house and he did up some burgers on his pellet grill and they were amazing! So I'm in the market for purchasing one
My buddy is using a Louisiana LG700 and says dollar wise it's the brand to get around these parts (We live in Central Canada) I found the LG700 ($999), LG900 ($1099) and LG1100 ($1199) I'm sure to the US crowd those prices are insane but seems everything is always more $$$$ here in Canada.
So I was thinking of going with the LG700 but I was checking online and came across someone selling a Traeger Pro Select, it's used but he says he's only used it 5x and the pictures it does look pretty much new. He's looking for $1100 cash, says he's into the grill for over $2000 with the cover etc and calling around the local Traeger distributors seems about right.
Reading reviews it seems most people say Louisiana grills are the better of the two brands as far as value is concerned, and they can achieve a higher temperature which is nice but the reviews are assuming two similar priced units where this is a higher end unit versus a lower end. But basically I can either get a used Treager Pro Select or a new Louisiana LG700 for pretty much the same price.
Which would you guys go with in my shoes? The Traeger seems like a higher end grill of the two used or not, but maybe people would still recommend the Louisiana?
