Newbie in buffalo

Wife bought me a new electric smoker for Xmas and want to fire it up this weekend. Haven't smoke in a long time any suggestions on something to get I going for its first use? I was thinking either pork sholders or ribs but didn't know how to take a first electric smoke

I would go with the shoulder, easier and more forgiving then ribs. It will also season the smoker nicely. JB
