Newbie here witha couple of questions.

For those with the AMZNP smoke generator, do you still use the wood pan or did you set it aside.

It seems like a lot of folks do not use the pan filled with water so do you set aside and make use of the room for something else ?

I take out the wood chip pan to allow more air flow in my MES 30.  I leave the water pan in and sometimes wrap it in foil as extra drip protection. Hope that helps.

Hex, morning..... I have a MES... I have removed the chip loading tube and the deflector above it.... Installed a mail box mod for the AMNPS.... After some trials and errors, I have reinstalled the chip pan that sits on the heating element for a "heat sink / diffuser" to even out the heat inside the smoker... This current set up works well for me.... even heat inside the MES...
