Hi, my name is Scott.  I'm 34 years old, and live in St. Louis.  I'm a huge Cardinals fan, and I am obsessed with Mizzou sports.

I just received a Masterbuilt 30" Electric for my Wedding Anniversary, and I am addicted.  I've been honing my grilling skills since my college days, finally gaining my wife's acceptance after years of hockey puck burgers and overcooked steaks.

A friend of mine made an amazing pulled pork shoulder a few months back that blew my mind.  Before that, I had never eaten truly smoked meats, other than the BBQ you can get at a restaurant or the prepackaged stuff you get at a grocery store.  It was a revelation for me.  I wanted to go beyond the grill, and learn real BBQ.

Over the past 3 weeks, I've been learning the ins and outs and making "safe" recipes.  So far, I've done a pork shoulder and wings twice.  They were pretty good, and were great for entertaining guests while watching Mizzou Football (M-I-Z!).  This site has been a great resource for getting me started with my new obsession.  I have really enjoyed lurking so far, and have found this to be a friendly, informative, and supportive place.  I can't wait to learn more and get to know you!
