Hey Everyone,
Ive been stalking this site for a while and finally decided to become an active member! I used to smoke with the Bradley digital smoker but decided to purchase a Weber 22" kettle and the slow N sear. Ive used it a couple of times but am still trying to tune my skills...

A couple days ago I tried out some chicken leg quarters and drum sticks, I used kingsford chacoal and some apple wood chunks.

I am still chasing that perfect rub, i like more of a sweet and spicy taste so I usually use brown sugar with an array of other spices. Ill keep my eyes open for some suggestions on the site.

Thank you!

Welcome to SMF!

The Que looks good to me!
I use to smoke with a Bradley smoke generator grafted onto a Brinkman Smoke-N-Grill. But Bradley priced their pucks too high for me to burn them.
So I came here, and I changed my ways. Now I use an AMNPS and pellets. Available everywhere.
For main events I use a gasser.

That chicken looks mighty darn good to me. I always enjoy the process of creating the new and perfect (for me) rub because you have to/get to eat all your experiments. You have to cook the rub to get the full effect, it will taste different than before it's cooked.

Many a great meal has been prepared on a Weber kettle. Let us know if you have more questions or need additional help.

Welcome to the site, glad you finally decided to join. Chicken looks good from my screen, and you can't beat a Kettle.

Welcome! Great lookin bird there! The array of spices and rubs are seemingly endless, and there is no right or wrong way to do it. For me a lot has to do with my families preference. I lean towards savory than sweet or spicy these days. (cutting carbs). keep trying different things and don't stop chasing!
