Ok so I have a MES 40 SS and now thinking of getting a new wood smoker, not really interested in pellet, chunks or dust, something around the same size +/-. I know some of ya'll have a few suggestions so what y'all recommended?
I dont mind spending a lil money but dont wanna break the back either.
TIA
Michael

I don't know what your budget is but I have an Oklahoma Joe's Highland stick burner and it performs pretty good. It is a low end smoker but I have done some really good cooks on it.

I have a Lang which bit more expensive than box store smokers. I used box store smokers for a number of years and you can make some good barbecue on them. The biggest difference for me is temperatures are MUCH easier to control on my Lang because of the gauge of the steel. Also it's most likely the last smoker I'll ever need to buy. It's not going to rust out like the less expensive options. I love my Lang! You can find used Langs here as well as places like Craigslist, etc. Good luck with your search.

Yep I have Lang too, but if your willing to settle for a charcoal/wood smoker, then I would look at a WSM 22.5. $400 & it is very easy to control the temps & puts out some great Q.
You will see them at BBQ comps.
