My wife has a way of finding fun little toys for me to play with for cooking different styles of food. Every month she attends a Wine and Cheese class that's hosted by a Texas based supermarket (HEB for those of you in the know) and had one of her classes day before yesterday. Every month is a different motif with different foods, wines, cheeses, and even beer samplings once in a while. She was absolutely blown away with the food on Wednesday and all of it was prepared on one of these little puppies. It's a massive slab of Himalayan Pink Sea Salt. It measures about 18" x 12" x 2" thick and weighs close to 10 pounds. I've never seen one or  even heard of them but God bless her, she bought me two of them :-) She said that everything they had, all of which was done on one of these, was absolutely amazing. Apparently it imparts a subtle but distinctive flavor to the food but it wasn't a salt flavor as you may expect....just something different and very good. Anybody ever seen one of these or have any experience with them? I absolutely cannot wait to try this out

I'm really looking forward to hearing some feedback if there is any to share. This may start a whole new trend within the SMF forum :-)

Toys abound in Lago Vista!!

Never seen the Himalayan, I have seen other salt slabs heard some people talking good about them.

Let us know how it is

I've never seen one used for human food, but around here farmer's give salt licks to cows. Some of the more underhanded folks use them to poach deer.

Looking forward to hearing your review.
